Had a great meeting at lunch today with Mark Cleaveland, pastor of The River on the Southwest side of town, and his associate, Scott, today. They are two heartfelt sincere men who were very kind and helpful.
They are leading a church that is nearly 3 years old- started from scratch with a mission to reach people who aren't a part of church. They also have a mission to be a practical blessing to the community and have done many things in their area for people in need.
They were very honest with me (as others have been) about the hard task of allowing God to use you to build something from the ground up and how to do all while working to maintain a bond of love with other churches around you.
After all- we are all in this together.
So, although I have also had several other productive meetings since my last post, I only have time tonight to give a shout out to these two guys and to say a Thanks to them.
